The following will hopefully help
familiarize new managers and veteran managers with the GPRO rules.† If you find an error or have a suggestion to
improve the quality of this rule guide or the game itself, please feel free to
post on our Forums, or contact us directly via webmaster@GPRO.net;
The GPRO Team
The goal of every manager within GPRO is to become the GPRO World Champion.† You will start off in G4, and based on your performance will be promoted to G3, G2, and eventually G1.† Winning G1 designates you as a World Champion!
Three races take place each week. We have a race on Monday, a race on Wednesday, and finally on Friday. †Therefore a 19 race season will take about 6 weeks to complete.
Every race will start at 20h00 CET on the aforementioned days, and will last approximately 2 hours depending on the number of laps. †If a technical problem arises during a race, the race will repeat on the following day.† While you do not need to be online during the race, managers should strive to watch their driver as much as possible.
The distribution of points after each race is.
Every manager will start their career with a level 1 car, and $30,000,000.† Be sure to conserve your money throughout the season.† If you do not have a positive balance at the end of the season, you will not be promoted regardless of points earned.
4. Practice, Qualify, Warm-Up & Testing
The weather forecast displayed in Practice & Qualify is the weather during the Practice and Qualify only. The weather forecast displayed in Warm-Up is the weather for both the Warm-Up and for the beginning of the race.
Before initiating a race you must complete some practice laps (if you want) and at least 1 Qualifying lap. †In order to be able to participate in a race, you must qualify under the 107% maximum of the best qualify lap done in your whole group. †This does not count in G4, however.† You can only complete a maximum of 8 Practice laps and 4 Qualifying laps per race. †Only the best lap in your 4 Qualifying laps will count for the Grid.
During the Practice laps, your driver will give you some recommendations on how to improve your car.† But, because he does not have a good feedback skill he cannot give you more then 3 hints at a time.
After you have made your Practice and Qualifying laps, you will be able to do up to 4 Warm-Up laps.
1. - During Qualifying, your driver will not be able to give recommendations and you will not be able to see the amount of error time committed by your driver.
2. - Once you have made one Warm-Up lap, you will not be able to do anymore Practice or Qualifying laps.
3. - You cannot complete any Warm-Up laps, unless you have done at least one Qualifying lap.
4. - The weather forecast for the Testing circuit will not influence the actual race.
5. - You will be able to complete Practice laps, Qualify laps, Warm-Up laps, and Testing laps up and until 1h30 before the beginning of any race.
6. - You must use the same dry tire compound for Qualifying laps, Warm-Up laps, and the Race.† However, if it rains in the Qualifying laps it will ask for the dry tire compound to be used in the race if it dries up.
7. - You will be able to see the last advice given by your driver in Practice until you make a Qualifying lap. †After that, comments given in Practice will not appear again.
8. Ė Different drivers will require different setups for their car during races.† Your perfect setup may be different from another managerís perfect setup.
5. Repair/Upgrade the Car
- The weather forecast displayed in the repair/upgrade section is the weather at the beginning of the coming race.
You can repair the parts of your car or you can upgrade/downgrade each part by purchasing them. However:
- You will only be able to repair your car once before each race.
- If you have a negative balance you cannot buy new parts.† Instead, you will only be able to repair each part up to 30%. †For example if you have 50% damage to a part, you will be able to repair it up to 20%.
Note: If you have a negative balance greater than -$15.000.000 then:
- You will be able to complete 8 Practice laps, but you will only be able to complete one single Qualifying lap.
- Your car cannot be repaired or upgraded.
As well, before the next race:
- You will lose your Chief Mechanic (if you have one) and;
- The moral of your driver will fall to 0.
Note: You can repair or upgrade/downgrade your car up and until 1h30 before the beginning of the race.
The weather forecast displayed here, is the weather at the beginning of the race. For the race, you will be able to specify different options to improve your performance.

6.1. Car Setup Strategy
You can specify the setup that you want to use during the race using the Setup section.
Note: If you do not specify a car setup in this section, the setup used for your best Qualifying lap will be used instead.
6.2. Fuel Strategy
You can specify the amount of fuel per stop in this section. †You will be able to specify how many litres you want at the beginning of the race, and how many litres your car will leave the pits with. †If the car enters the pits a sixth time, the litres specified in the fifth pit stop will be used. †If you did not specify anything in your fifth stop then the number in your fourth stop will be used. †Example: If you choose to put 80 litres after your first pit and your car had 5 litres, then 75 litres will be added to your car so that it leaves the pits with 80 total litres.
- If the car does not have sufficient fuel to complete another lap, the driver will come to the pits.
- If you do not specify the fuel for a certain pit stop, then he will use the amount specified in the previous pit stop.
6.3. Strategy for the tires
You can specify the tires that your car should have:
- at the start of the race;
- when it begins raining; and,
- when it stops raining;
Note: The following assumption is made: if it begins raining, then the entire circuit is wet. †If it stops raining, then the entire circuit is dry.
6.4. Strategy for the Pilot
The strategy for the driver can be specified the following ways:
- The risk that your driver will have to take when he wants to overtake another car;
- The risk that your driver will have to take when he wants to block the car behind;
- The risk that your driver will have to take when everything is normal; and,
- The risk that your driver will have to take if the car presents/displays problems;
1. If your car begins to have problems, you will lose time each lap. †If this happens, you can choose to have the driver call the pits to see if the problem can be solved. If it can, the car will enter the pits as quickly as possible, but otherwise the driver will try to finish the race with the risk that you specified. †If the car enters the pits because of a technical problem, your mechanics will put the amount of fuel specified for that pit stop number, or the previous pit stop if a value was not attributed.
2. Be careful in the risk value used to overtake/block. If you put too much, your driver can commit a driving mistake and prove costly for your lap times.
3. In the near future, you will be able to specify a risk value for when the car is low on fuel.
Settings can be made by using the circuit data; which specifies laps, length, and turns; among other things.† Settings can also be made using the driverís statistics, the weather forecast, and any other factor associated in the game.
You can make offers to drivers and Chief Mechanics if youíre in need of new staff. The following will be applied in these transactions:
- You can only offer contracts to 2 drivers and 2 Chief Mechanics before every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.† You can only have 6 total offers to drivers and 6 total offers to Chief Mechanics each week.
- If you buy a new driver or Chief Mechanic, then you will have to compensate your current driver or Chief Mechanic in the amount of half of the money that you would pay him until the end of his current contract.
- The drivers and Chief Mechanics will make their decisions with regard to offers, on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 19h and 20h. †In that hour, they cannot be offered any further contracts.
- The drivers that do not accept any offers will result in a 5% decrease in their salary, and a 10% decrease in their signing fee.† Their morale will also drop 40%. The same will be applied to Chief Mechanics (with the exception of the moral decrease).
- If a driver reaches 33 years of age, then he will make the decision of retiring.† If he decides to retire, he will retire at the end of the current season.† Furthermore, if he chooses not to retire; he will retire at the end of the season after turning 42 years old.
- Managers in G4 will not be able to offer contracts to drivers with more than 84 points in their overall statistic, and they will not be able to offer contracts to Chief Mechanics.
- Managers in G3 will not be able to offer contracts to drivers with more than 99 points in their overall statistic, and they will not be able to offer contracts to Chief Mechanics.
- Managers in G2 will not be able to offer contracts to Pilots with more than 135 points in their overall statistic and they will not be able to offer contracts to Chief Mechanics with more than 45 points in their overall statistic.
The drivers have the following attributes that affect their driving ability:
1. The driver will increase by 1 point in concentration every 5 races.† The driver will also increase 1 point in talent every 10 races, and increase 1 point in experience after every race. †The moral will increase or decrease after a race, depending on the performance of the driver during the race.
2. The value in concentration, talent, experience, stamina and moral can range from 1 to 200 points.
You will be able to train your driver in concentration and talent. †In order to train your driver however, you must have a positive money balance. †The cost to train your driver are as follows:
- 1 point every 10 races - $10,000 per race;
- 1 point every 8 races - $12,500 per race;
- 1 point every 6 races - $20,000 per race;
- 1 point every 4 races - $35,000 per race;
- 1 point every 2 races - $90,000 per race;
- 1 point every 1 race - $300,000 per race;
- 1 point every 13 races - $7,000 per race;
- 1 point every 10 races - $10,000 per race;
- 1 point every 7 races - $18,000 per race;
- 1 point every 4 races - $40,000 per race;
- 1 point every 2 races - $100,000 per race;
- 1 point every 1 race - $300,000 per race;
Note: If your driver is currently involved in a training session and after the race you have a negative balance greater than $15.000.000; the training session will be cancelled and the amount of money you have already spent will be lost.
7.1.2. Contract Renewal
At any time during the season, you will be able to renew the contract for your driver. The renewal of the contract will take effect immediately after the current contract is completed.† When you renew the contract of your driver, you will have to pay half of the salary requested by him/her when you sign the contract.† The other half will be added to the future salary.
1. If you have renewed the contract of your driver, and meanwhile you have made an offer to another driver that accepts it; the new contract to your driver will be cancelled, and you will not be able to recover the money that you paid to your present driver for signing the new contract. †This means that you will lose the signing fee.
2. If your driverís contract finishes and you have not offered a contract renewal, he/she will leave you will receive the worst possible driver available.
3. If you are not in G1 or G2, you will not be able to renew the contract of your driver if he has an overall average over 99 if you are in G3, and an overall average over 84 if you are in G4.
7.2. Chief Mechanics
The Chief Mechanic has 3 attributes:
- Repair: The higher his value in this area, the cheaper it will be to repair a part (i.e..: brakes, motor etc.);
- Pit stops: The higher his value in this area, the less time the car will be in the pits while refuelling, changing the tires, or repairing due to mechanical problems;
1. These attributes will not change over time; except the age of your mechanic.
2. You can dismiss your Chief Mechanic at any time, but you will have to pay compensation to him in the amount of half of the amount that you would have to pay him until the end of his contract.
7.3. Pit Crew
In G4 you will begin with 1 good, 1 normal, and 3 mediocre pit crew staff. †According to the race results, you will be able to sign new ones. If you do poorly however, more may leave you than you will be able to hire.† The maximum number of pit crew staff allowed in your team is 20. †Remember that the better the mechanic is, the more money he will need to be paid.
For your disposition, you have a commercial manager who will help you look for a sponsor for the FOLLOWING SEASON. You will be able to have sponsors on your front and rear wings, the sides of the car and the suit of your driver. In addition, you will be able to have a sponsor for your team. For example, the average sponsorship on the wings is lower than the sponsor on the sides of your car. Different sponsors will give different amounts of money. The more ď$Ē a sponsor has beside their name, the greater amount of potential money they will give you in sponsorships.
You will be able to use up to 28 hours of your commercial manager per race to negotiate with the sponsors. The greater amount of hours that you order him to dedicate to a particular sponsor, the greater progression of the negotiation. Once the negotiation goes over 30%, the sponsor will specify the amount of money that he will be able to give you the next season. When the negotiation with a sponsor in a certain area reaches 100%, the sponsor will be kept for the following season and no further negotiation will be able to be done in that area.
1. You will have to distribute the hours in each race or else the negotiations will not advance.† This also applies for the tire sponsor.
2. The contract will be signed only if the negotiation reaches 100%.
3. If a manager does not sign a contract with a sponsor for the following season, then you will have the present sponsor for the next season with a maximum of $2,000,000.
4. Remember that if you are in G4, the sponsors reset after every season.
8.1.1. Tire Sponsor
The tire sponsor will not give you money. Instead, they will give you tires with better/worse grip. The more 'O' they have beside their name, the greater the grip that they will have.
Note: When you start the game you have the lowest tire sponsor. They are called "Uniroyali". †This sponsor will be attributed to each manager who does not manage to finish a negotiation with another tire sponsor.
- If your driver did the fastest lap in a race, he will receive $1.000.000.
The following is the amount of money each Manager will receive for their driverís placing in a race:

- Each lap in Practice will cost $50.000.
- Each lap in Qualify will cost $100.000.
- Each lap in Warm-Up will cost $50.000.
- Each lap in Testing will cost $25.000.
9.2. After the Race
- You will pay your driver; with a bonus if specified in the contract.
- You will pay your Chief Mechanic; with a bonus if specified in the contract.
- You will pay 9% in general racing costs of the total amount of money you earn.
10. Structure of Groups
The following is how GPRO structures itís groups into racing groups:
- 1 Top Group (G1)
- 4 Sub-groups (G2a, G2b, G2c, G2d)
- 16 Sub-groups (G3a, G3b, G3c, G3d, G3e, G3f, G3g, G3h, G3i,..., G3p)
- 64 Sub-groups (G4a, G4b, G4c, G4d, G4e, G4f, G4g, G4h, G4i..., G4lll)
At the end of the season:
- The top 3 of each group in G2 will be promoted to G1.
- The top 3 of each group in G3 will be promoted to G2.
- The top 3 of each group in G4 will be promoted to G3.
- The last 12 in G1 will be relegated to one of the groups in G2.
- The last 12 of each group in G2 will be relegated to one of the groups in G3.
- The last 12 of each group in G3 will be relegated to one of the groups in G4.
The champion will be the manager who wins the G1 group.
1. Managers who are in the top 5 in any of the groups in G2, G3 or G4, but have a negative amount of money, will not be promoted and the next manager in the general standings with a positive money balance will be promoted instead.
2, Managers who finish between in the top 25 in G1 with a negative money balance will be relegated to one of the groups in G2 and the best managers in the last 15 of the G1 group will stay in G1.
3, Managers who finish between 6th and 25th place in one of the groups in G2 and have a negative money balance, will be relegated to one of the groups in G3.
Two managers will be able to form a team. For the contract to be signed, each manager will have to pay $3.000.000. The manager who proposes to create a team pays $3.000.000 immediately and the other pays the $3.000.000 when he/she accepts the proposal from the other manager. During one season each manager (within a team) will give points to his/hers team. Here is the distribution of points:
- If the manager is in G1 and obtains X points, then the team will obtain X points;
- If the manager is in G2 and obtains X points, then the team will obtain X*0.75 points;
- If the manager is in G3 and obtains X points, then the team will obtain X*0.50 points;
- If the manager is in G4 and obtains X points, then the team will obtain X*0.25 points;
1. Each point earned by the team will equate to $50,000 at the end of the season. This money will be given after the promotion/relegation.
2. Each proposal to form a team with another manager will cost $3.000.000.
12. End of the season
- A manager who has a negative money balance at the end of the season will lose his title (if that's the case). †Furthermore, a manager will not be able to start the next season with a negative amount of money. Therefore in that case, the manager will have to sell the parts of his car until they manage to obtain a positive money balance. The value of the parts will be half of the price of purchase. The first part sold will be the most expensive. Example: If a manager finishes with a deficit of -$6.000.000 and the car has the following parts: Motor (level 2), Body (level 3), Brakes (level 2), Gear box (level 4), Suspension (level 1), then the manager will have the following parts during the following season: Motor (level 2), Body (level 2), Brakes (level 2), Gear box (level 3), Suspension (level 1) and $1.000.000 (selling the Body of level 3 will obtain $3.000.000 and selling the Gear box in level 4 will obtain $4.000.000).
- A manager who has participated in each Race of the current season will obtain $5.000.000 for the next season.
- After each season, the parts of the car will have 0% of use.
- Each manager will obtain $30,000 for each point that he/she had obtained in the previous season. This money will be given to the managers at the beginning of the following season.
- At the end of the season, you will have to pay a tax if you have more than $50.000.000. You will have to pay 4% in taxes per million over $50.000.000. Example: If you have $65.000.000 (15 million over the $50.000.000), at the end of the season you will have to pay $3.900.000 (15*0, 4% = 6% of the $65.000.000 that you have).
- The managers relegated to G3 will lose their driver if he has an overall above 99 points, and their Chief Mechanics if they have one.
- The moral of the driver will increase if they finished in the top 5 of his group. This will also depend on their abilities and the group in which they were racing.
1. End Of Season Bonus. The Top 8 in each group will receive a bonus in the amount of the following:
2. The promotion/relegation will be calculated (the money balance at that moment is taken into account and the manager will be relegated if he has a negative balance).
3. The parts of the car will be sold if the balance is negative.
4. The taxes will be implemented.
5. $5.000.000 will be given to the managers who have competed in the 19 races of the previous season.
6. Points from the previous season will convert into money for the manager.
7. Points from the previous season within a team will convert into money for both teammates.
- Managers in G4 will begin each season with:
2. Level 1 car parts.
3. They will lose their driver if the driverís overall statistic is over 85.
4. $5.000.000 will be given to the managers who have competed in the 19 Races of the previous season.
5, Managers who return to G4 will have their sponsors default back to $1.000.000 and Uniroyali tires.
- Only one manager will be permitted per computer, or IP address.† Violations will result in both accounts being removed from the game.
- Players in G4 who do not participate in 6 consecutive Races will have their account cancelled in GPRO.
- Players in G3 that do not participate in at least 6 races in one season will have their account cancelled in GPRO (and the players in G4 will fill the necessary spaces).
- Players in G2 that do not participate in at least 6 races in one season will have their account cancelled in GPRO (and the players in G3 will fill the necessary spaces).
- Only the managers in G1 will be able to offer a Championship Bonus to their drivers and/or Chief Mechanics. The maximum of this bonus is $30,000,000.
- When players are added to a group in the middle of a season, they will receive $1,750,000 per race left in the season. Example: Players who enter the game after the first race will obtain $28.404.000 (18*$1.578.000), whereas players who enter after 7 races will obtain $18.936.000 (12*$1.578.000), and so on.
Important: By participating in this game, you accept that making more money than the announced numbers in these rules, will give you an unfair advantage with respect to other players; and that you are liable to be removed from the game for exploiting bugs in our software.† If you find any bugs, please report them by emailing webmaster@GPRO.net immediately.
- If you have a driver with a general average around 100 and you set your risk around 90%, you are going to crash in almost every race.
- Fuel consumption depends on the circuit and the statistics of your driver.
- The amount of risk you set, influences the amount of use in your parts.
- The greater the number in your car setup for each part, generally the greater the damage to your parts.† Of course, there are more factors to damage though.
